Nvidia, Meta and Microsoft urge Washington not to restrict open-source AI

Twenty-five companies including Nvidia, Meta and Microsoft signed a letter urging Washington not to restrict open-weight AI models. The letter came days after a Chinese AI tool helped Hugging Face survive a cyberattack that was triggered by OpenAI's own systems. The signatories argue that curbing open-source AI would harm American innovation and global competitiveness.
