Tax-free parental gift – you have 6 months to report it

A gift from parents is fully exempt from inheritance and gift tax in Poland, but only if reported to the tax office within 6 months of receiving it. Failing to meet the deadline triggers a standard tax charge on the full amount. The reporting obligation applies when the gift exceeds the statutory threshold for the zero-tax group.
