BBC: over 3,500 foreign fighters killed fighting for Russia since 2022

At least 3,586 foreign nationals from over 40 countries have been killed fighting for Russia since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, according to BBC data. The largest numbers of dead came from North Korea, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia and Azerbaijan. The figures reveal the scale of foreign mercenary involvement in the war.
