Greece Launches "Achilles' Shield" Arms Programme Amid Turkey Tensions

Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias announced the approval of a package of arms procurement contracts as part of the country's long-term rearmament programme. Athens has launched, among other things, a weapons purchase plan to create an air-defence umbrella over the country, dubbed "Achilles' Shield." Dendias declared on social media that Greece has "entered a new era."
