Phone data self-destruct feature may soon be tested in US court

A case involving an Atlanta-area activist could become the first US court test of whether a phone's data self-destruct feature — designed to wipe data when authorities attempt access — is illegal to use. The defendant denies activating it. The legal question at stake is whether triggering such a feature constitutes obstruction of justice.
