AGM vs Flooded Lead-Acid Car Battery: What's the Difference?
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) and flooded lead-acid batteries are the two most common car battery types found in auto parts stores. AGM batteries are sealed, more vibration-resistant and better suited to deep discharges, making them the preferred choice for vehicles with start-stop systems. Flooded lead-acid batteries are cheaper but may require occasional electrolyte top-ups and are less tolerant of deep discharge cycles.
