Wildfires in France and Spain force 250,000 to flee; Bordeaux threatened

Uncontrolled wildfires in Spain and France have forced more than 250,000 people to evacuate — around 70,000 in central Spain and 197,000 in France, including tens of thousands from the Bordeaux wine region. Strong winds are driving flames towards Bordeaux, while smoke over Madrid has triggered health warnings. Hundreds of firefighters are battling blazes on both sides of the border.
