Ex-FDA Official: Trump's Cyclospora Response Is "Near Catastrophic"
Frank Yiannas, former FDA deputy commissioner for food policy who served under both Trump and Biden from 2018 to 2023, has accused the Trump administration of near "catastrophic" mismanagement of the cyclospora outbreak that has sickened thousands of Americans. Cyclospora is a parasite found on raw produce that causes severe gastrointestinal illness. Yiannas is calling for an independent review of the federal government's response to the crisis.
