Ebola in DRC: 2,973 cases and 1,309 deaths as Oxford volunteer receives experimental vaccine
The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has reached 2,973 confirmed cases and 1,309 deaths, according to Reuters. The epidemic is caused by the Bundibugyo strain, for which no approved vaccine yet exists. On Friday, a 37-year-old volunteer in Oxford received the first dose of an experimental vaccine under development.
