Wildfires near Bordeaux: 200,000 evacuated from Gironde department

French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez announced that 167,000 people have been evacuated from the Gironde department in south-western France, including 57,000 overnight from Friday to Saturday. The mayor of Bordeaux, Thomas Cazenave, said the city itself is not currently under an evacuation order. The total number of evacuees across the region has reached 200,000.
