SpaceX is no wireless threat to carriers — unless a rival sells out to them

Building its own mobile network from scratch would be too expensive and slow for SpaceX to threaten major carriers like AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile on its own. The real risk for incumbents is that a smaller rival carrier could partner with or sell access to SpaceX, upsetting the industry's current balance of power.
