Digital tax around the world: France and UK charge it, US opposes it
A digital tax on Big Tech companies is already in force in France, Italy, Austria and the United Kingdom, with Belgium and Poland among those working on implementation. The US opposes the levy and has pressured Turkey and Canada into abandoning their plans. Several other countries, including Japan and Sweden, use alternative regulations for the digital market.
