Guterres arrives in Damascus for first UN chief visit since before the civil war

UN Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Damascus on Saturday for a three-day visit, the first by a UN chief to Syria since before the civil war. He is expected to reaffirm international support for the multi-confessional country as it rebuilds after more than a decade of conflict.
