Syngenta to Stop Selling Paraquat in Australia After New Restrictions

Syngenta has announced it will stop selling the herbicide paraquat in Australia, saying new regulations have made it "commercially unviable." Australia's Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority introduced new restrictions on the highly toxic chemical in June. Paraquat is banned in more than 70 countries and has been linked to Parkinson's disease.
