Lawsuit Claims Apple Chip Exploit Used Stolen Trade Secrets

Magnet Forensics has filed a lawsuit against Paradigm Shift Technology, alleging that the unpatchable exploit known as usbliter8 — targeting several Apple SoCs — was built using trade secrets stolen by a former engineer. Because the vulnerability is hardware-level, it cannot be fixed via software updates. The case centres on the misappropriation of proprietary forensic technology.
