Wing-Flapping Robot Can Both Fly and Swim Like a Diving Bird

Researchers have built a bioinspired robot weighing roughly half a pound and spanning about three feet that can both fly and swim using flapping wings. The device was modelled after aquatic birds such as puffins, gulls and loons. Scientists say it could one day help study diving birds and survey ocean habitats.
