Court halts Paramount-Skydance merger with WBD until June 2027

Paramount Skydance has agreed to pause its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery pending the outcome of a lawsuit filed by a coalition of US states, or until June 1, 2027 at the latest. The dispute centres on the merger's impact on competition in the media and streaming sectors. The hold-up also puts a question mark over the future of Poland's TVN, which is tied to the deal.
