England's Mark Swan wins Commonwealth Games' first gold in para powerlifting

Mark Swan of England claimed the first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, edging out Nigeria's Roland Ezuruike in the men's lightweight para powerlifting after both finished level on 153.9 points. The 25-year-old lifted 222kg — more than three times his body weight, roughly equivalent to bench-pressing a grand piano. Swan said after the competition: "I thought I got third, I didn't realise I won."
