34,000 lightning strikes spark fresh wildfires across British Columbia

As of Friday morning, the province had 25 evacuation orders and 90 active wildfires. Prime Minister Mark Carney described the current season as one of the most intense on record, with warming and drying conditions threatening to spread the blazes further.
