Sega Chief: Physical Media Still Important to Us Despite Sony's Plans
Shuji Utsumi, Sega's chief since 2024, has pushed back against Sony's controversial decision to stop distributing disc-based games in 2028. He said that while digital distribution is growing in importance as the PC gaming audience expands, physical media still plays a significant role and Sega continues to value physical media culture. He stopped short of announcing any specific Sega publishing commitments on physical formats.
