Chinese memory maker CXMT eyes US market entry

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), now the world's fourth-largest memory maker, is planning to break into the US DRAM market as part of a longer-term overseas expansion strategy. The Chinese firm is rapidly scaling up production capacity amid a global memory shortage, and its chips are already being validated by motherboard manufacturers. Its path to the US faces hurdles including strong domestic Chinese demand and pressure from rival Micron on US lawmakers to restrict CXMT's access to key equipment.
