Wildfires in France and Spain force tens of thousands to evacuate

French authorities ordered the evacuation of the Cap Ferret peninsula, a popular Atlantic holiday destination, as wildfires spread across the region. In Spain, fires in the Madrid area were closing in on populated areas. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes across both countries.
