Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta warn against restricting open-weight AI models

Nvidia, Microsoft and Meta have co-signed a letter warning against "premature restrictions" on open-weight AI models, arguing such limits would stifle innovation. The move comes as Chinese open-weight models increasingly compete with leading American offerings. Notably, OpenAI and Anthropic did not add their signatures to the letter.
