Hackers Hid SectopRAT Malware on Claude.ai – 29 Organizations Infected

Cybersecurity firm Huntress discovered that hackers created a public Claude Artifact on Anthropic's Claude.ai platform that spoofed the legitimate Claude Desktop app. The malicious artifact distributed the SectopRAT remote access trojan and infected at least 29 organizations between July 21–22, 2026. Victims were redirected via Bing ads. Anthropic removed the artifact after it had been viewed more than 7,000 times.
