Olympic medallist Ryota Yamamoto quits Nordic combined to focus on ski jumping

Japanese Olympic medallist Ryota Yamamoto has ended his career in Nordic combined and will compete exclusively in ski jumping from the 2026/27 season. He cited his passion for ski flying and a desire to return to the Olympic Games as the reasons for the switch. Yamamoto previously won an Olympic medal in Nordic combined.
