Ozempic and Mounjaro linked to increased hair loss risk

A large study found that GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro may slightly raise the risk of hair loss in people with type 2 diabetes. Compared with other common diabetes medication classes, GLP-1 users had a significantly higher rate of alopecia, although the absolute risk remains low. The hair loss was predominantly non-scarring, suggesting it may be reversible.
