Experimental Antiviral Pill Could Halt Measles Outbreaks Before They Spread
An experimental antiviral pill prevented a measles-like virus from spreading through the air or close contact in ferret trials, working both shortly before and after exposure. The drug also shortened the illness and the period during which infected animals remained contagious. Researchers say it could one day complement vaccination and make outbreaks easier to contain.
