Tanzanian lecturer arrested over anti-government protests charged with terrorism

A Tanzanian university lecturer has been arrested and charged with terrorism in connection with planned protests calling for democratic reforms. He is among more than 130 people detained by authorities over the demonstrations. The arrests have drawn condemnation from human rights organisations who decry the suppression of opposition.
