China wins two Fields Medals at same ceremony — an Asian first

China has become only the fifth country ever to produce two Fields Medal winners at a single ceremony, and the first in Asia to achieve the feat. The Fields Medal is considered the highest honour in mathematics, awarded to mathematicians under 40 every four years.
