Nawrocki signs chain-ban law — owners have 12 months to comply

President Karol Nawrocki has signed an amendment banning the keeping of dogs and cats on chains or tethers. The law is a revised version of the so-called "chain law" that Nawrocki had previously vetoed in 2025, which he now considers improved. Animal owners have 12 months to comply with the new regulations.
