EU warns TikTok: child protection settings must be on by default

The European Commission published preliminary findings under the Digital Services Act (DSA), alleging that TikTok fails to adequately protect minors on its platform. The Commission is calling for children's accounts to be set to "private" by default rather than "public". TikTok has been given the opportunity to respond to the findings.
