PiS wants to strip Morawiecki of ECR leadership — Italian partners defend him

According to Interia sources close to PiS leadership, the party intends to remove Mateusz Morawiecki from his position as head of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR). The former prime minister is currently being shielded by Italian coalition partners within the ECR who are defending him. The dispute reflects internal score-settling within the grouping following its election defeat.
