Ousted CHP leader Ozel launches Turkey's second-largest party

Ousted Turkish opposition leader Ozgur Ozel has founded the New Party, which instantly became parliament's second-largest group after 90 lawmakers defected alongside him. He left the CHP amid deep internal divisions and ongoing judicial challenges against the party. The split severely weakens Turkey's main opposition bloc.
