Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Tankers in Red Sea, Oil Prices Surge

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels struck two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea on Thursday, their first reported attack since announcing a blockade of Saudi-linked shipping through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Houthis say the attack is retaliation for Saudi Arabia's blockade on Yemen and a recent strike on Sanaa's international airport. Brent crude prices hit their highest level since May, with tensions compounded by the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
