IPN identifies remains of Major Dziemieszkiewicz "Rój" found at Łączka cemetery
Poland's Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) announced the discovery and identification of the remains of Major Mieczysław Dziemieszkiewicz, codenamed "Rój", a legendary partisan commander in northern Mazovia. The remains were found at the so-called "Łączka" section of the Military Cemetery at Powązki in Warsaw, where victims of communist repression were buried. Deputy IPN Director Dr hab. Karol Polejowski described Rój's wartime activity as legendary.
