New Caledonia two years on: a territory still scarred by 2024 riots

Two years after the riots that shook New Caledonia in 2024, France 24 reporters returned to the French overseas territory still dealing with the aftermath. They travelled from the Kanak independence stronghold of Saint-Louis to Mont-Dore, Nouméa and Bourail, meeting residents living with lasting scars from the violence. The territory remains deeply divided over its political future.
