Alan Turing's racy short story reveals his playful, cheeky side
Cambridge English literature professor Sarah Dillon has transcribed and analysed a little-known short story written by Alan Turing in the year following his 1952 arrest in Manchester for gross indecency. The story presents a side of the computing pioneer that is playful, funny, cheeky and openly interested in sex — challenging the popular image of an arrogant, isolated and humourless mathematician. Dillon argues this more human portrait should reshape how we remember Turing.
