TikTok, X and Meta blocking researchers' access to data on social media harms

EU law gives researchers unprecedented rights to scrutinise Big Tech platforms under the Digital Services Act (DSA). However, European researchers say TikTok, X and Meta are still controlling who gets access to their data, effectively stalling independent studies into social media's harms.
