EU bans Belarusian nationals from owning crypto firms from 25 August

From 25 August, the EU will prohibit Belarusian nationals and residents from owning, controlling or managing cryptocurrency exchanges and any other firms regulated under MiCA. The move widens existing EU sanctions against Belarus to cover the entire crypto services sector. It marks a significant tightening of financial restrictions on Belarusian-linked entities.
