Nina Warken becomes first woman to head Germany's chancellery

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz unveiled the first stage of his cabinet reshuffle: Health Minister Nina Warken will replace Thorsten Frei as chancellery chief, becoming the first woman to hold the post. Frei will in turn succeed Jens Spahn as CDU parliamentary group leader following Spahn's resignation. Merz praised Warken as assertive and well-versed in security policy.
