Volkswagen to cut up to 100,000 jobs as Q2 2026 profit disappoints

Volkswagen reported weaker-than-expected profit for Q2 2026 on Friday, deepening concerns about the German automaker's financial health. The group had already announced plans to cut up to 100,000 jobs. Its CEO cited an "extremely difficult environment for the automotive industry", particularly in Germany.
