Polish Ombudsman can protect only one citizen at a time, critic argues

A commentator recalls an article he wrote five years ago when he himself was a candidate for the post of Polish Ombudsman (RPO), arguing that the institution has very limited powers and can protect at most one individual citizen at a time. He stresses he is not commenting on the person chosen for the role, but on the institution itself, which he says receives no meaningful public debate.
