China imported 173 tonnes of gold in June — biggest haul in two years
A drop of more than 10 percent in gold prices prompted China to import 173 tonnes of the metal in June, the largest monthly haul in two years. Demand was driven by banks, retail investors and ETF funds, with imports rising for the third consecutive month. A stronger yuan also made purchases more attractive.
