Young People by the Sea: Isolated but Hopeful in England's Poorest Coastal Towns
A year-long journalism project covering 17 coastal towns in England and Wales exposed a deep crisis facing young people by the sea. Youth service funding in England has fallen 73% over 12 years, and nearly one million 16- to 24-year-olds are not in work, education or training. Despite this, young people in these deprived areas show resilience and retain hope for the future.
