5-Year Experiment Captures Live Evolution — A Lifeline for the Climate Crisis
The GrENE-net project, launched in 2015, established 43 research gardens across three continents — including in Germany, Spain, Norway, Israel's Negev desert and Warsaw University's Ochota Campus — spanning climatic zones from alpine to desert. Over five years, the experiment showed that plants can adapt to new climate conditions with remarkable speed in the wild, potentially offering crucial insights into species survival amid climate change.
