Nolan's "Odyssey": The Economist Slams an Overly Sanitised Hero
According to The Economist, Christopher Nolan's film is a surprisingly loose and naive adaptation of the Odyssey — the ancient, flawed hero Odysseus has been softened into an ordinary modern good guy. Ochre-coloured palaces lit by candles look more like boutique hotels than warlords' lairs, and the film's ending is singled out as particularly weak.
