Should we stop worrying about vacuum decay ending the universe?

Vacuum decay is a theoretical catastrophe in which space transitions to a lower-energy state, destroying everything in the path of an expanding bubble travelling at light speed. Current measurements of the Higgs boson mass and the cosmological constant suggest our Universe is metastable, meaning it could persist for an extraordinarily long time. Scientists say the probability of such an event occurring on any human-relevant timescale is effectively zero.
