Australia allocates $3.2bn for nuclear submarines under AUKUS pact
Australia's government announced an additional AUD 4.6 billion (approximately USD 3.2 billion) on Friday to expand the Adelaide shipyard where nuclear-powered submarines will be built. The investment is part of the trilateral AUKUS security pact with the United States and the United Kingdom. The programme is designed to counter China's growing influence across the Pacific.
