France wildfire: fire breaches defence line, over 29,000 evacuated near Cap Ferret

Wildfires in south-western France have forced the evacuation of more than 29,000 people from the tourist destination of Cap Ferret in the Gironde. The fire has breached a defensive line set up by firefighters, and the situation remains critical. Air support from four countries is expected to join the firefighting operation shortly.
