Spain bans smoking on restaurant terraces, beaches and bus shelters

The Spanish government has approved a draft anti-tobacco law extending the smoking ban to restaurant terraces, beaches, swimming pools and bus shelters. The hospitality industry is pushing back, arguing the measures will not actually reduce tobacco consumption. The legislation still needs to pass through parliament before taking effect.
